Leigh Griffiths has revealed he has been struggling with an injury in recent games and will monitor it ahead of Scotland’s trip to Malta next week.
The 25-year-old has already found the net seven times this season for Celtic, and has scored four times in his last four appearances despite his ongoing injury.

Speaking to the Scotsman after Saturday’s 4-1 win over Aberdeen, Griffiths revealed:
I’ve been struggling with my hamstring tendon since before we played Hapoel at home. But I’ve battled through it.
I will go away with Scotland, see the physios there and see what they are thinking. I always want to play for my country, I don’t want to let anybody down. Hopefully I can pull through and get a chance.

Brendan Rodgers withdrew the striker in his last three games before the hour mark, a clear sign that he was managing Griffiths’ injury.
Despite his injury concern, Griffiths has scored the opening goal for the Hoops in consecutive league games and continues to cause problems for defences with his pace in behind.
Griffiths will join the Scotland squad for their World Cup qualifier against Malta next Sunday, where his hamstring will be assessed further.
He will hope that the injury isn’t too serious and will be able to return to action for Celtic after the international break without the worry of damaging his hamstring further.
