Celtic target Andre Wisdom will join Red Bull Salzburg on a season-long loan after becoming surplus to requirements for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The 23-year-old Liverpool defender was linked with a move to reunite with Brendan Rodgers having worked together previously, who will now join the Austrian side for first-team football according to the Liverpool Echo.
Celtic have gone with the preferred option of signing Cristian Gamboa from West Brom, which is expected to be confirmed later today after he underwent a medical yesterday (Monday).
Rodgers has opted to alternate between Mikael Lustig and Saidy Janko at right-back so far this season, however he doesn’t seem to favour either option as a long-term solution.
Lustig has operated in the heart of the Celtic defence and looked more comfortable and doesn’t have the legs anymore to match the demands Rodgers has off his full-backs.
It now seems the Celtic boss has made his choice and will sign Gamboa, who will challenge Lustig for a starting role in the side.
