Sviatchenko reveals details from Rodgers’ bible

Erik Sviatchenko has revealed details from the so-called “Rodgers bible” and is confident his playing style suits the new philosophy at Celtic.

The defender arrived in January and became a key player in the heart of the Celtic defence under Ronny Deila and is very popular amongst fans.

Since Brendan Rodgers’ arrival, Sviatchenko has only made four appearances due to a groin injury, and hopes to play a key role after the international break.

As quoted by STV, the 24-year-old spoke about Rodgers’ bible, saying:

We’ve not looked at it much over the last couple of weeks, but it’s all about the details and how we are training.

At this moment the training’s are really interesting, as a player you’re getting motivated by that and he’s into every kind of detail.

I think my playing style suits his playing style well, so for me it has been an easy transition, but a really interesting transition.

I’m playing at a Champions league club, so I would be surprised if there wasn’t any competition and that can only be good for players and the squad who know they have to do their best.

Sviatchenko has remained in Glasgow to build up his fitness ahead of the Champions League fixtures for Celtic in the coming weeks and months against Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Danish international missed most of the qualifying campaign through injury and was on the bench for both legs against Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the playoff round.

First up they will face Rangers at Paradise for the first time this season, and currently have a one-point advantage over them with a game in hand.

His only Celtic goal so far came against them in last year’s Scottish Cup semi-final, but will be hoping for a different result to that game next Saturday afternoon.
