Celtic will return to domestic action after their midweek humbling against Barcelona with a trip to Inverness.

Just three days after hammering Rangers in the Glasgow Derby, Brendan Rodgers’ opening Champions League group stage game in charge of the Hoops saw them being taught a cruel lesson also by one of the world’s best teams.

The Hoops haven’t lost to Inverness since their controversial Scottish Cup semi-final defeat in extra-time to the Highland side last year.

Rodgers will be looking for a reaction from his players after their defeat on Tuesday, and will look to maintain their place atop the table after Sunday’s clash with Inverness, who are unbeaten in their last four games.

Leigh Griffiths is still roughly a week away from full fitness having missed the last two games with a calf injury.

Gary Mackay-Steven is the only other absentee and he continues his recovery from off-season surgery on his ankle.

Inverness

Back-up goalkeeper Ryan Esson is recovering from an elbow injury and teenage ‘keeper Cameron Mackay has been recalled from a loan at Elgin to take his place on the bench.
