Scott Brown scored his first league goal of the season as Celtic moved four points clear at the top with a game in hand.

Dundee defended well in the opening 45 minutes and set up to stifle Celtic by pressing the ball high up the field.

Erik Sviatchenko was unfortunate not to win a penalty on 12 minutes after putting his body between Andrew Kerr and the ball and brought down the Danish defender.

James Forrest had the most joy down the right wing but couldn’t create that golden chance to give the Hoops the lead.

Moussa Dembele was left isolated up front and rarely got the ball into his feet as Celtic struggled to break down the home side who defended in numbers.

Two minutes into the second half Brown led by example and scored the only goal of the game.

After playing a through ball to Dembele he followed up his pass and found himself in the right place and the right time after some scrappy defending from Dundee and fired the ball through several bodies and into the net.
