Rodgers outlines his aims for Celtic

Brendan Rodgers says Celtic must continue to impose their style of play on the opposition ahead of their crunch tie with Borussia Monchengladbach.

With confidence high in the Hoops camp ahead of tonight’s game against the German side, Rodgers is still looking for more from his players despite being delighted with what he’s seen so far.

Speaking about his players as quoted by the Scotsman, Rodgers said:

There will come a point, wherever we are, whatever jungle we are in in the world, we will be able to impose our style and I will be happy to go to wherever it is and be happy to play our way.

My aim is about building the team with power, speed and a high level of technical ability and a high level of unpredictability in their game, that scores goals and creates many chances and defends strongly. So there’s a way to go in terms of that.

Rodgers side have only lost three games this season, and are still on course for a domestic treble having stretched their unbeaten run in Scotland to 10 games after a 2-0 win against Motherwell.

Monchengladbach haven’t won in their last three games and have conceded 12 goals in their last five away games, including four to Manchester City on matchday one and

Manager Andre Schubert will be hoping other players can step up to the mark after four star players were ruled out through injury earlier this week and yesterday.

Celtic will face Borussia Monchengladbach tonight at Paradise before preparing for Sunday’s League Cup semi-final against newly promoted side Rangers at Hampden Park.
