Rodgers hails players and lauds opponents after win

Manager Brendan Rodgers was happy with the way his side performed on Wednesday night against Ross County.

Celtic ran-out 4-0 winners in Dingwall with a side consisting of just three players who started in Sunday’s League Cup semi-final win against Rangers.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Rodgers spoke of his side’s performance and showed the opposing side respect by saying:

I thought my players showed the mark of a good side. We started started quick and finished strong.

I thought that Ross County where one of the best teams that we’ve played this season. They had good quality in some good areas.

He also commented on the yellow card that Craig Gordon received in the second half after he misjudged a long ball and made a clumsy challenge.

I think it’s very similar to the Alloa one, he obviously is committed to it, but it’s a definite yellow card.

I thought the referee was excellent tonight, he controlled the game very well.

A goal from Patrick Roberts early on ensured the Hoops of a quick start before late goals from Stuart Armstrong, Scott Sinclair and inform striker Moussa Dembele sealed the win.

The team’s unbeaten domestic run continues, with a tricky away trip to Aberdeen this coming Saturday with a chance to move 10-points clear of their main title challengers.

Four days after that, Rodgers’ side face a difficult trip to Germany for their fourth game in the Champions League, where they will face Borussia Monchengladbach who defeated them 2-0 at Celtic Park earlier this month.
