Stuart Armstrong’s first-half goal gave Celtic all three points at extended their lead to 13 points at the top of the table.

Leigh Griffiths missed the game with a hamstring injury and it is unclear whether he will be fit for Wednesday night’s game.

Celtic came close through Moussa Dembele after he got on the end of James Forrest’s cutback but Will Boyle made a tackle to deny the Frenchman.

The home side had chances of their own in the opening 45 minutes as a result of Celtic’s inability to retain possession in defence, with Armstrong and Dedryck Boyata both conceding possession needlessly

Armstrong gave Celtic the lead two minutes before half-time with a cool finish into the bottom left corner after Dembele drew five players towards him and played a killer through ball.

Patrick Roberts came close to doubling Celtic’s lead on 51 minutes after pouncing on a poor clearance but was denied brilliantly by the ‘keeper.
