Striker Moussa Dembele is confident that his side can pull off another memorable result in the Champions League this coming Wednesday.
Celtic host Barcelona in the fifth match in this year’s European competition, with Rodgers’ side currently sitting bottom of Group C with two points.
The Catalan giants thrashed the Hoops 7-0 in the opening game of the competition back in September, but it could be a different game this time around.
That’s what star striker Moussa Dembele thinks anyway.
As quoted by Celtic’s official Twitter, the 20-year-old said:
We need to be relaxed but have pride in the shirt we’re wearing, then give everything. If we do that, I know we can get a result.
Lionel Messi, who netted a hat-trick the last time the sides met, is expected to travel to Glasgow despite missing his side’s 0-0 draw with Malaga at the weekend through illness.
Dembele has already bagged 16 goals for his club since the start of the season, including two in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Manchester City and a crucial penalty against Borussia Monchengladbach last time out in the competition.
Rodgers’ side must give their all if they are to have a realistic chance of securing European football after Christmas and will need to win one of their remaining two group games.
