Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side return to Champions League action on Wednesday when they face Barcelona.

Stuart Armstrong scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Friday, as the Hoops look to upset the odds against Barcelona.

Celtic were hammered 7-0 last time they faced the Catalan giants, but will look to their 2-1 win over them four years ago at Paradise knowing anything is possible.

Rodgers’ side must win one of their two remaining group games to have any chance of European football beyond Christmas.

Luis Enrique’s side drew 0-0 on Saturday against Malaga at home and are four points behind Real Madrid in La Liga, but will look to solidify their place at the top of group C with just two games remaining.

Celtic

Leigh Griffiths missed Friday’s win over Kilmarnock with a hamstring injury and will be assessed ahead of the game after training today (Tuesday).

Jozo Simunovic wasn’t in the squad on Friday but is available for Wednesday night’s game as are Emilio Izaguirre and Kolo Toure who were both on the bench.

Kieran Tierney remains out having undergone ankle surgery.

Barcelona

Lionel Messi missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Malaga through illness but returned to training on Monday and flew to Glasgow with the squad.

Luis Suarez didn’t feature on Saturday due to a one match suspension and will return to the team but Andreas Iniesta is out with a knee injury.

Summer signing Samuel Umtiti is also out with a hamstring injury which the defender suffered on international duty for France, as is his fellow countryman and defender and Jeremy Mathieu with a calf injury.
