Team news: Celtic v Motherwell (A)

Brendan Rodgers side return to league action against Motherwell, almost a week on from their League Cup final triumph.

Celtic hammered Aberdeen 3-0 at Hampden and will look to continue their unbeaten start to the domestic season and carry it on into a fifth month.

The result in midweek mean Celtic can go 17 points clear of third place if they win all their games in hand over Hearts and can also go 13 clear of The Dons, who have played one more game than the Hoops at this stage.

Rodgers’ side have already put seven past The Well this season and have yet to concede to the side that currently sit in sixth place.

Scott Sinclair remains out for several more weeks with a hamstring he sustained against Barcelona.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Gary Mackay-Steven is up to speed and is ready to play when called upon after undergoing surgery in the off-season on his ankle.

Kieran Tierney remains out until the New Year and underwent shoulder surgery before last Sunday’s League Cup final.

Motherwell

Lee Lucas won’t feature but Richard Tait should recover from a dead leg to play.
