Sviatchenko wants to be relentless in pursuit of glory

Erik Sviatchenko believes that the league title isn’t over yet for Celtic and that they must be relentless in their pursuit of domestic dominance.

Celtic have started the domestic season unbeaten and now that their European campaign is over, they can focus on domestic matters to try and win a first domestic treble since 2001 for the club.

The 25-year-old Danish player has become a key player in The Hoops jersey since he signed at the beginning of the year and is also a fan favourite.

Speaking to the Scotsman, Sviatchenko said:

I wouldn’t say the league is over yet. It’s about being relentless and keeping going on. If you want to go from good to great, at some point then you have to do something extra. It’s about everyone doing something to be better than before.

It would be nice if we got through the season unbeaten but it is a long season, there are a lot of games and probably there will be a game when it happens. Whether it is achievable or not, it is nice to say it out loud sometimes, that it would be nice if it happened.

Should we lose a game, which is obviously quite natural sometimes, then it is just about how we bounce back and how we move on.

Tom Rogic was the hero last time out for the Hoops on Scottish turf as he fired in a last-minute winner against Motherwell.

Although it was a pulsating finish to the game, Sviatchenko will be looking for a more comfortable outing tonight in the league after he missed the game through illness.

Celtic are in action against Partick Thistle at Firhill Stadium and will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the domestic season and move 11 points clear at the top with two games in hand.

The game will kick-off at 7:45pm.
