Striker Leigh Griffiths has said that it will be difficult for their Scottish opponents to stop Celtic this season after another impressive outing.
The Scottish international spoke after his team pushed aside fellow Glasgow side Partick Thistle in a 4-1 win.
Griffiths has been limited to just three starts since the start of October, but already has 10 goals to his name, having scored 40 last season.
As quoted by BBC Sport, Griffiths said:
From the moment I got injured it’s been difficult. Niggling injuries have kept me out of the team. I can’t fault Moussa for his efforts but that goal just reminded everybody that I’m still here and I want that starting jersey every week.
He’s been sensational. Okay he’s not scored in the last couple of weeks but his all-round play has been magnificent. I would not have had any qualms about him playing tonight but the manager stuck me in and I’ve done my job.
I try and stretch teams, I try and link the play as much as I can, dart in behind, and most importantly get goals, that’s what a striker is based on. Thankfully, I’ve put two on a plate for Stuart (Armstrong), I’ve scored one myself, and maybe should have had another one.
Griffiths scored one after a nice bit of skill and assisted another two on his first start since beating Inverness in November, where he also got himself on the score-sheet.
The Hoops are in pursuit of their 48th League title, and are comfortably at the top of the league table with an 11 point lead and two games in hand over second place.
They are unbeaten domestically this season too and have picked up 40 of a possible 42 points in the league so far.
Fans are already talking about the possibility of a domestic treble, and Griffiths believes that it will be a tough task for anyone to stand in their way.
Griffiths added:
It’s going to be hard for teams to stop us. There’s no doubt about that. We’re getting more and more confident with every game the way we’re playing. We want to be deadly in every game. We’re a squad on the up, we’re a squad that will run to the 90th minute.
I’m not saying that we’re going to go the whole season unbeaten, we just need to take it each game as it comes. We’ve got a lot of games coming up, everybody is going to need to be at it to keep this run going.

With the chances of a treble already being discussed, Rodgers’ side wrapped up their first trophy of the season in November when they cruised to victory in the Betfred League Cup final after a 3-0 win over Aberdeen.
The path to clinching the League Cup proved in the end to be a very successful one for the Scottish Champions, as they didn’t concede a single goal in the four matches.
Celtic face Hamilton Academical on Tuesday night at 7:45pm in their first home game since they place Barcelona in last month.
