Brown insists Celtic won’t slow over hectic Christmas period

Scott Brown has insisted that Celtic won’t take their foot off the gas in pursuit of a 48th League title in a packed December schedule.

The Hoops currently sit top of the table and boast an eight-point lead with three games in hand and will play six more games this month, including Tuesday night’s game.

They continued on their domestic unbeaten run on Saturday with a triumphant 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle, with fans continuing to talk about the possibility of Brendan Rodgers’ side going unbeaten for the remainder of the season.

As quoted by the Evening Times, Brown said:

This is where we want to be. We never get tired of winning. The manager has told us that he wants us to be ruthless – ruthless and relentless and that is what we are aiming for.

However long the run lasts doesn’t matter just now. All we care about is coming out of every game with three points. Everyone wants to play, everyone believes that we are building something special.

No matter who we are playing against, it doesn’t matter; we want to set the tone for the game and we want to score goals.

Celtic’s outstanding second half display against Motherwell saw them fight back from two goals down to secure all three points with a 4-3 win shows the spirit and determination the side currently holds.

And those same characteristics will need to be shown again if Rodgers’ side are to get as many wins under their belt as possible and possibly even go unbeaten.

Having already secured the League Cup after a stellar 3-0 win over Aberdeen, the Hoops have all to play for as they look towards a potential treble win.

They’re back at home this Tuesday night when they host Hamilton Academical and will look to continue with their fine domestic form.
