Rodgers set to reject Snodgrass’ wish

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly not interested in signing winger and Hoops fan Robert Snodgrass.

The Scottish international has turned down a new contract offer at Premier League side Hull City, leaving his future hanging in the balance with just six-months left on his current deal.

Snodgrass grew up in Glasgow and has been a Celtic fan throughout, though despite being willing to take a massive pay-cut to play for his boyhood heroes, it’s rumoured that manager Brendan Rodgers isn’t so interested in signing him.

According to the Daily Record, a source said:

Snoddy has never hidden his desire to play for Celtic and he would have taken a massive cut in wages to make it happen but if he’s not wanted then there’s nothing much more he can do about it. The dream was to end his career playing for Celtic and winning trophies with them. But the word is that Brendan Rodgers simply is not interested so that is that.

As much as Snoddy is a Celtic fan at least he knows now that the option of playing for the club is not going to be on the table. He can plan his future accordingly.

Other English Premier League clubs such as West Ham and Middlesbrough are said to be favourites to snatch him up, and could sign him for a bargain or for free in the summer.

The 29-year-old has been with Hull for over two years now, though with problems off the field at the club, he feels it’s time for a new chapter in his career.

It now looks as though he could seal a move to a fellow English Premier League club, rather than sport a Hoops jersey next season.
