Darlington Nagbe’s move to Celtic has seemed to edge closer to the finish line after Portland Timbers confirmed the signing of Costa Rican David Guzman, who plays in an identical role as Nagbe.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to the Hoops for a while now and even attended their Champions League home clash with Barcelona back in November.
And now that the Timbers have signed Guzman, it looks like Nagbe’s move to Brendan Rodgers’ side could be a step closer.
The January window approaches fast and Rodgers looks like he could be set to bring in some new talent, as well as offloading a number of fringe players.
Celtic have been linked with a host of names in recent weeks but it looks like Nagbe will be the one to be confirmed first.
The USA international has played in Portland for around five years now, cementing his place in the first-team in the process.
