We know that there is considerable interest in Moussa Dembele, but now we know what kind of figures we’re talking about if clubs want to make a move for the striker.
In West Ham’s official transfer update column, they detail that the club have submitted a £20m bid for a player from Scotland. It was also reported in the last 24 hours by the Daily Mail that West Ham were interested in signing Moussa Dembele in January.
It has now been confirmed by the London Evening Standard that the Hammers have made a £20m bid to sign Dembele.
After joining Celtic in the summer on a Bosman transfer from Fulham for a compensation fee of £500,000, Dembele has been a major hit at Celtic Park, scoring 19 goals in 36 appearances so far this season and has become a real fan favourite.
Brendan Rodgers recently spoke out about Dembele’s future, hinting that the France U21 international could stay with the club for a couple more years but more importantly, he won’t be leaving in January.

“It won’t be January for Moussa. You know at Celtic that if you get a really talented player, then the cycle at best is a couple of years, like Victor Wanyama, Virgil van Dijk and Ki Sung-yueng.
“If they have that quality, then it’s a great platform for them to demonstrate that and then they know there’s a better financial situation down south.
“With Moussa, it was always going to be the case, but the difference now with Celtic is that if he does leave here, he won’t be going to a bottom-end Premier League team.”
While West Ham are not a bottom-end Premier League team, they aren’t exactly the type of team that Rodgers is referring to that Celtic could sell Dembele to in the future.
Double it and add 10million and then we can start discussions. France’s young player of the year, did’nt Man U pay nearly 60 million for last years young player and Dembele’s miles better.
Id take it so will peter lawell wev got Griffiths and 20million can buy a striker that can play along with him,coz brendan see 1 or the other and id play Griffiths before Dembele.
Sorry Paul but are you serious.Never mind Celtic telling WHU to bolt,Moussa himself will say no thanks, and one thing Lawell does well is get top dollar for players (VVD,Wanyama etc) £20m is a good start to a bidding war,but Dembele will go for at least £30m if not more after hopefully more Great Champions League performances next season
