Dembele reveals his dedication to Celtic and hails fans

Despite the winter break in Scottish football’s top flight, Celtic striker Moussa Dembele isn’t taking his eye off the prize.

The summer signing has bagged 19 goals already this season, including a goal in Celtic’s last fixture on Hogmanay at Ibrox.

As quoted by the Daily Express, he said:

Training is what I love to do. I went home to keep training as the season isn’t finishing and I will come back even fitter than before I left.

It has been hectic so it’s good for us to go to Dubai for a week, train and be together. Throughout the season we have been fantastic and now we will take a break and come back stronger.

It will be good for the team spirit as well and we will come back tighter as a group.

The fans have been behind me and the team throughout the season and it was a victory for all of us – the supporters, the players and the staff – and we have to keep going.

Dembele scored three goals in the Champions League, earning Celtic two points in the process with his goals against Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach – and has managed to keep out Leigh Griffiths from the starting team for most of the season.

Griffiths bagged 40 goals last season, and has 13 goals to his name already this season even though Brendan Rodgers prefers the French under-21 international striker.

Celtic are in action against on January 22nd in the Scottish Cup against Albion Rovers as they go in search of a first domestic treble since 2001.

With a 19 point lead, a sixth consecutive league title is all but won and a League cup trophy already in the cabinet from November.
