Tierney responds to interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich

Kieran Tierney has responded to interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich reiterating his love of Celtic and his childhood dream becoming a reality.

Celtic are currently on a winter break trip in Dubai as Tierney works his way back from a three month layoff following an ankle injury during training.

With interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich the defender and boyhood Celtic fan isn’t interested in any move away from Paradise.

As quoted by the Daily Record, the 19-year-old said:

Obviously when you are younger some people dream about playing in the Premier League but I dreamt about playing for Celtic . It was always a Celtic strip I wore.

It’s flattering hearing clubs like Bayern and Chelsea mentioned. They are some of the best teams in the world but if you are a youngster playing first-team games every week for Celtic and doing well, you will get noticed by teams in Europe.

A freak injury in training in October forced Tierney to have surgery on his ankle after damaging ligaments and also underwent shoulder surgery.

The academy graduate has been a revelation at left-back since his first appearance under Ronny Deila and has continued to grow in stature under Brendan Rodgers.

With 54 appearances, one goal and 15 assists since his debut against Dundee in 2015, Tierney is continuing to focus on life at Celtic as they chase a first domestic treble since 2001..

Tierney could return to action against Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup but with the problems artificial pitches can cause, he may have to wait until Celtic’s opening home game of 2017 against St Johnstone.
