Moravcik urges Rodgers’ men to become treble winners

Former treble winner Lubo Moravcik has urged for Celtic to win it again this season for the first time since his side done it in 2001.

Rodgers’ side won the League Cup in November and are currently 19 points clear in the league, and will likely be crowned champions for the sixth time in a row later this year.

The Scottish Cup is the only other competition left for the Bhoys to win to complete the treble for the first time since Martin O’Neill was in charge.

Speaking to the Evening Times, Moravcik said:

It is not just that Celtic have been winning, but winning with a certain swagger in the majority of their games.

They look so much better than everyone else and when you have that ability along with the belief then you become a very hard team to stop. The key thing is confidence and if you have that then you find that you have so much momentum.

I haven’t seen too many games but I go on and watch them on YouTube to catch up and I have been really impressed with the manager. He seems to have got his message across about how he wants the team to play very quickly and I think that is always the sign of a good coach.

Rodgers’ side are in a great position to become history makers and it is up to them to push on and win the Scottish Cup.

Celtic have not won the Scottish Cup since 2013, however, with the League Cup coming early this season with the new format, the expectations are high for the Hoops to win it.

Rodgers would become only the third Celtic manager to win a domestic treble.  Jock Stein won two trebles with the Hoops and Martin O’Neill won that one in 2001.

Celtic have returned from their winter break in Dubai, and are ready to lock horns with Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
