Brendan Rodgers has given injury updates on Leigh Griffiths and Mikael Lustig ahead of Wednesday’s game against St Johnstone.
Leigh Griffiths missed out on Celtic’s 3-0 victory over Albion Rovers yesterday with a tight calf. However, he along with Tom Rogic trained with the squad today.
Rodgers spoke to the Daily Record earlier and said:
Leigh Griffiths is back in training after missing Sunday’s William Hill Scottish Cup win over Albion Rovers with a tight calf, while Mikael Lustig will be monitored after going off at half-time.
He had a stiff back and as a precaution we took him off. Playing on the astroturf, it just provokes a wee bit more out of some players than others. So we will see how he is, he is still a bit stiff.

Mikael Lustig was taken off at half time in the Scottish Cup Fourth Round victory yesterday.  Rodgers says that it was nothing serious and he should be fine moving forward.
Kouassi Eboue has been granted a work permit and is ready for action but may have to wait for his Celtic debut.
Rodgers is hoping to make additions to his squad and admits there could be some fringe players released in this window.
I didn’t want to bring in too many but we have an option that we could get over the line. We will wait and see on that one.
It’s about slowly building the squad. The squad has been outstanding in their work over the first six months so we want to just keep adding to it to help the players that are already here.
There will maybe be one or two that will go out on a loan basis as well, so there will probably be both ways. I suspect there will be some change in the squad before the window.
Celtic’s game at home to St Johnstone will kick-off at 7:45pm, as they look to match the Lisbon Lions’ 50-year-old record of 26 domestic games without defeat.
