Aberdeen sign Ryan Christie on loan

Aberdeen have completed the signing of Celtic midfielder, Ryan Christie on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined the Hoops from Inverness Caley Thistle in the summer of 2015, under the management of Ronny Deila.

Deila immediately loaned the Scotland Under-21 international back to Caley Thistle until January 2016, but has made just 13 first team appearances – four of which have been from the start.

The move north was confirmed by Aberdeen’s official Twitter account.

Brendan Rodgers has enough strength and depth in his midfield and there was no chance of the youngster breaking into the side this season.  The loan to Aberdeen is a fine move for Christie, in terms of getting regular first-team football.

The Scotland Under-21 international will aim to help The Reds beat Rangers to second spot of the Scottish Premiership, by the end of the season.  Aberdeen sit third in the league with a game in hand and will move into second with a win.

Celtic’s game at home to St Johnstone tomorrow night will kick-off at 7:45pm.  The Hoops aim to match the Lisbon Lions’ 50-year-old record of 26 domestic games without defeat.
