Player ratings: Celtic 4-0 Hearts (H)

A Scott Sinclair brace as well as goals from Callum McGregor and Patrick Roberts helped Celtic extend their unbeaten domestic run to 27 games, surpassing the Lisbon Lions’ 50-year-old record.

McGregor opened the scoring after a quick counter attack on 29 minutes.

Captain Scott Brown was fed the ball from Craig Gordon and galloped past the halfway line before playing it to Scott Sinclair.

He cut inside and fed McGregor, who volleyed the ball into the bottom right corner to give the Hoops the lead.

Moussa Dembele picked up a knee injury in midweek, while Leigh Griffiths was out with a recurring calf problem and Stuart Armstrong was injured in the warm-up.

Sinclair had a good chance to put Celtic 2-0 ahead, but couldn’t direct Kieran Tierney’s cross towards goal, but atoned for his miss several minutes later to put the game beyond doubt.

Roberts made it three after 80 minutes, with Tierney assisting once again with a clever cut back and Sinclair scored  a penalty in the dying minutes.
