Arsenal looking at summer swoop for Kieran Tierney

Over the last 12 to 18 months, Kieran Tierney has established himself as not only Celtic’s first choice left-back but also one of the best young defenders in European football right now.

His rise to prominence has caught the eye of a number of top European clubs and the Mirror understand that Arsenal are ready to make a summer move for the teenager after having scouts watch him several times this season.

The 19-year-old missed two months earlier this season after suffering an ankle injury in training but has started every SPFL and Champions League game he’s been fit to play in, contributing 10 assists in those the games.

Arsenal are believed to be interested in signing a new left-back in the summer with both Kieran Gibbs and the ageing Nacho Monreal on the chopping block following poor seasons in north London.

Celtic are aware of the Gunners’ interest and are preparing themselves for a summer bid, but their interest in Arsenal forward Chris Willock may come up in negotiations.

One thing’s for sure, Brendan Rodgers will do everything he can to keep one of the most talented youngsters the club has produced in recent years at the club.
