Everton are keeping tabs on Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong ahead of a possible summer transfer, according to a report from Iain MacFarlane of The Express.

The Blues are looking for new midfield additions and are looking at a number of players and Armstrong is seemingly one of those.

The 24-year-old’s contract will have just 12 months left on it this summer and as it stands, he’s not close to agreeing a new deal which could mean Celtic have to sell him if he doesn’t put pen to paper.

Everton themselves are in a similar boat with Ross Barkley who was told by Ronald Koeman that he’ll be sold if he chooses not to sign a new deal with the Blues this summer.

Armstrong has been in good form since his return from injury scoring in his last two league games against Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Rangers.

Celtic will be keen to keep the Scottish star on their books but if he doesn’t sign a new deal, they’ll have a decision to make come the summer.
