Newcastle join Liverpool in race to sign Kieran Tierney

Going the whole domestic season unbeaten will raise eyebrows in football circles.

There’s no doubt that Celtic will be subject to a number of attractive offers in the summer to part ways with some of their top players but Brendan Rodgers is keen to add to his squad, not replace outgoing talent.

One player who is repeated linked with a summer transfer is Kieran Tierney. The left-back is wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool but now Newcastle are looking into making a move for the Scotland international, according to the Daily Star.

Rafa Benitez will be given a summer transfer budget in the region of £100m following Newcastle’s promotion to the Premier League and they’re interested in signing Tierney to be a replacement for Paul Dummett and Achraf Lazaar.

Rodgers has outlined his intentions to extend the gap between Celtic and their SPFL rivals next season, a gap which currently stands at 27 points. To do so, the club can’t and won’t allow their best players to leave in the summer.
