Liverpool reject Celtic’s approach for Harry Wilson

Liverpool have rejected Celtic’s approach for young winger Harry Wilson, according to a report in the Liverpool Echo.

It is understood that Brendan Rodgers is an admirer of the youngster and wanted to bring him to the Scottish Champions, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

However, Liverpool were swift to reply, telling Cetic that Wilson is not for sale and that he will not be leaving Merseyside this summer as manager Jurgen Klopp has him in his plans for the season ahead.

The Welsh international, who worked with Rodgers during his time at Anfield, is one the most talented youth products at the club and is captain of the under-23 side.

Rodgers already has a number of talented youngsters in his Celtic side and was keen to add Wilson to his squad to add more firepower up front.

Wilson, 20, made his first-team debut this season in the FA Cup against Plymouth and Klopp is looking to include him in more first-team games next year

Wilson made 17 appearances in Premier League 2, scoring 12 times and registering six assists. The talented youngster also played 45 minutes in Liverpool’s 3-0 end of season friendly win against Sydney FC.
