Huddersfield join Celtic in the race to sign Patrick Roberts

Newly promoted Huddersfield Town have made an enquiry to Manchester City about the possibility of taking winger Patrick Roberts on loan, according to a report from ESPN FC.

It has been widely documented that Celtic would like to keep Roberts after his successful loan spell, with plenty of talk that they’d be happy to have him on loan again or, ideally, on a permanent basis.

However, as it stands, no deal between Celtic and City has been agreed and it looks like the Terriers will try to take him for their first season in the Premier League.

20-year-old Roberts was an integral part of the Celtic side that won the domestic treble last season as he scored 11 goals and had 19 assists, so it’s no surprise that he’s a wanted man.

According to ESPN, Roberts wants to chat with City boss Pep Guardiola in the near future to see if he is in his immediate plans and if he isn’t, he would be keen to go out on loan once again.
