The agent of Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has revealed that a number of clubs are interested in signing him, but as it stands, the player is happy to stay at the Scottish champions.

As reported by the Chronicle Live, it is understood that Newcastle, Huddersfield and a few other clubs were impressed with what they saw from the 22-year-old and they’ve sounded out his agent about a possible move.

Zoran Krneta, the man who represents Simunovic, had this to say when asked about the interest in his client:

Jozo is in no rush [to make a decision]. We have clubs calling showing an interest all the time but as far as I’m aware, no offers have been made. I’m sure Peter Lawwell will let us know if an offer is accepted but until then he is looking forward to next season with Celtic.

Simunovic was a key player in Celtic’s fantastic treble winning season and losing him would be a major blow, so to hear his agent say he is happy in Glasgow will be a relief to fans of the Hoops, although it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if bids came in for the Croatian in the next few weeks.
