Ntcham hails Celtic fans after making his competitive debut

Olivier Ntcham was delighted to mark his competitive debut for Celtic with an emphatic 4-0 win over Linfield last night.

The £4.5 million midfielder started the match in front of a packed home crowd and put on an impressive display, showcasing the talent and composure that he will hopefully show more of in the future.

And the French U21 international had his say on the game afterwards, as he spoke about the atmosphere inside the ground as well as how he’s settling in.

As quoted by the Evening Times, he said:

It was a good atmosphere inside the stadium. For me, it was maybe the first time I have seen a lot of people like that, because it wasn’t like this in Italy.
It was my first competitive game and we won 4-0, so I am happy. I am not yet 100 per cent fit, but I am getting better every day. Every game will help me. I’ve settled in well here.
The squad is training together every day so it is easy for me to get to know them and them to get to know me.

I enjoy the way this team plays. I already played this way when I worked under Patrick Vieira at Manchester City. I know this style of football.
The way the manager here wants to play is very similar to what I experienced at City in terms of the system and style.

A Man of the Match winning performance by Scott Sinclair was marked with a brace, with Tom Rogic and substitute Stuart Armstrong also finding the net.

New signing Kundai Benyu joined the action with fifteen minutes to go and showed promise after making some good runs whilst finding space.

Norwegian champions Rosenborg are Celtic’s next opponents in qualifying round three, after they beat Dundalk last night in extra-time.

The first leg is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 26th July at Celtic Park, with the return leg a week later on August 2nd in Norway.
