Celtic are reportedly interested in signing striker Abdul Majeed Waris from French side Lorient.
According to a report from the Daily Mail today, the Ghana international is a man in demand this summer, and Celtic are one of four teams keen to land him.
The 25-year-old is a striker by trade, but featured on the wing often last season for the Ligue 1 outfit. He has regained form since his move from Spartak Moscow to Lorient, and this has seemingly prompted interest from a host of clubs.
However, Celtic aren’t alone in their reported interest. It’s stated in the report that English sides West Ham, Brighton and Fulham are keen on making a move for the striker this summer.
The Ghanian international has been capped 25 times by his country, scoring four goals – and scored 11 goals and provided four assists last season in France.
A potential stumbling block in any deal for Celtic would be Waris’ asking price, though. Lorient are reportedly insisting that a fee of £9m must be coughed up if their prized asset is to secure a move away this summer.
