Celtic are eyeing a move for Feyenoord defender Miquel Nelom as Brendan Rodgers looks to add more depth to his squad ahead of a busy season.
Celtic are guaranteed to be playing some form of European football until at least the Christmas period and following Emilio Izaguirre’s decision to leave, the squad could do with a new addition at the back.
According to the Evening Times, a move fore Nelom, who can play at left-back or centre-back, is being considered.
The 26-year-old Dutch international has entered the final year of his contract in Rotterdam and as such, there is a good chance that he’ll be available for a relatively low cost and Celtic are currently considering whether or not they should make a bid.
Nelom would be highly unlikely to replace Kieran Tierney at left-back but he’d provide Rodgers with a versatile option for the times when he needs to rotate his squad, or if he loses any players due to injuries or suspensions.
