Celtic forward Nadir Ciftci will join Plymouth Argyle on a season-long loan deal next week, as reported by STV.
The 26-year-old spent last season out on loan with Turkish side Eskişehirspor but he clearly didn’t do enough there to impress Brendan Rodgers as the Celtic boss has agreed for him to go out on loan once again.
His agent, former Hoops striker Pierre van Hooijdonk, told STV that his client is going out on loan in order to get himself playing regular football once again.
He said:
He needs to be back playing and get back to the level where he was.
Ciftci will play under former Ross County manager Derek Adams at the League One club and Celtic will be hoping that he performs well as it looks inevitable that they’ll be looking to sell him sooner rather than later.
An impressive season in England’s third tier could help the Scottish champions get a decent fee for a player who clearly isn’t part of Rodgers’ plans going forward.
