Celtic have officially completed the signing of Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee on a four-year deal.
Ajax CT’s official website today confirmed that a sale had been sanctioned for the 20-year-old. The move is subject to him having a work permit approved, along with him passing a medical with the club.
Coetzee suffered a hamstring injury during his side’s draw at the weekend, but it is not though to be serious, and he is looking all but set to put pen to paper on a long-term deal with Brendan Rodgers’ side.
It’s been claimed by reports recently that Coetzee is keen to test himself in the Champions League, having enjoyed such success with Ajax Cape Town and scored the crucial goal at the weekend to earn his side a point.
Coetzee will now look to kick on in Celtic colours and make an impression on the Scottish Premiership and in Europe’s premier competition.
The youngster has been capped 16 times by his national side since making his debut in 2014, and 91 appearances for Ajax Cape Town.
