After booking their place in Thursday’s group stage draw, Celtic fans should pay close attention to Liverpool’s second leg fixture against Hoffenheim tonight.
As STV News reports, the result of the game could potentially play a huge role in who Celtic will face in the group stages of the competition.
Liverpool currently lead Hoffenheim 2-1 on aggregate but should the Reds lose the tie on Wednesday night then Celtic would move into pot three.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are currently in pot four of the draw, but they’re the highest ranked side in there.
Celtic have not been named in pot three since the 2008/09 season due to their low coefficient points.
The possibility of moving into pot three could see Celtic avoid teams such as Serie A duo Napoli and Roma as well as Premier League side Tottenham.
Having drawn Manchester City, Barcelona and Borussia Monchengladbach in last season’s group stages, Celtic fans will be hoping for a favourable draw.
