Celtic are set to complete the transfer for Odsonne Edouard from PSG in the final days of the transfer window.
The 19-year-old French will join on a season-long loan, with an option to buy next summer according to French journalist Nabil Djellit.
Edouard won the Golden Player and Golden Boot awards at the European U17 Championships in 2015 representing France and will provide competition for fellow countryman Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.
The former has been injured since Celtic’s first leg win over Linfield and has been struggling with a hamstring injury since April, while Leigh Griffiths has been managing calf injuries for the last 12 months.
Edouard will also be eligible to face in parent club in the Champions League group stages when the two sides meet at Celtic Park on September 12th and in Paris on November 22nd as UEFA rules forbid loan clauses being inserted into transfer deals.
Although he is yet to make his senior appearance for PSG, the youngster scored over 60 goals in the last two seasons and made 17 appearances on loan at Toulouse, scoring once.
He has also scored five goals in 13 appearances for France’s U19 squad and 10 appearances in the UEFA youth league, scoring three times.
Celtic will be hoping to secure him for a cut price with his contract expiring in the summer of 2019 and after PSG secured the signing of Kylian Mbappe on a season long loan before his move from Monaco becomes permanent next summer for £167 million.
