Jonny Hayes not aware of any loan interest

Irish winger Jonny Hayes has told reporters that he knows nothing of any loan move away from Celtic.

Hayes has been subject of speculation to a temporary move away from Celtic Park despite only signing for the Scottish Champions back in July. The speculation suggested that the 30-year-old, who was signed from Aberdeen could go on loan, to Cardiff City in the English Championship.

Neil Warnock and Cardiff tried to sign Hayes from Aberdeen back in January and earlier in the summer but were unsuccessful in their attempts to land the Irishman.

Hayes is currently away from the Celtic squad on international duty with the Republic of Ireland as they gear up for World Cup Qualifiers away at Georgia and at home to Serbia.

When asked if there was any truth in the speculation linking him away from Celtic Park, Hayes told Sky Sports:

No, not that I know of anyway. To be honest with you, you just see these sort of things on social media crop up now and again, but nothing that I know of, anyway.

Hayes, who signed a three-year contract upon his arrival, has made a total of eight appearances for the Bhoys so far – three starts and five appearances off the bench. The reported loan move always seemed like a rumour with little substance behind it and that appears to be the case.
