Player ratings: Celtic 4-0 Dundee (A)

Celtic eased into the semi-final of the League Cup with a comfortable win at Dens Park over Dundee as James Forrest bagged his second consecutive brace.

Scott Sinclair won and converted the opening goal from the penalty spot after 25 minutes following a brilliant run at the defence going past two players before being tripped inside the box.

With nine goals already this season, last season’s player of the year has picked up where he left off for the Hoops.

Forrest doubled Celtic’s lead five minutes before half-time with a composed finish into the bottom left corner after a quick counter attack from Kieran Tierney down the left wing.

Callum McGregor added a third of the bench with a cool finish into the corner and Forrest added a fourth late on.

Celtic join Hibernian and Rangers in the semi-final, and the draw will follow Motherwell and Aberdeen’s quarter-final tie on Thursday.
