Celtic got their first win of the Champions League group stages with a comfortable win in Brussels with goals from Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair.

The away side had 71% of possession in the opening 45 minutes but struggled beyond the halfway line to create any clear openings.

With 28 minutes gone, a perfectly weighted pass from Olivier Ntcham found Kieran Tierney who picked out Griffiths unmarked inside the box with a sublime pass and he had the simple task of tapping the ball into an empty net.

Roberts doubled Celtic’s lead on 51 minutes after pressing the ball and winning possession before cutting inside on his left foot and firing a shot on goal that was deflected into the net.

Sinclair added a third late on to give Celtic a comfortable win.

The win was Celtic’s second win away from home in the Champions League group stages – the first a win at Spartak Moscow – which was also the last time the Hoops progressed to the last-16 of the competition.
