Former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs believes that Hibernian midfielder John McGinn is the perfect replacement for veteran Celtic midfielder Scott Brown, according to a report on the Daily Record.
The young Scotland international is a huge Celtic fan and is highly-rated by Stubbs, who signed him in July 2015 during his spell in charge of Hibernian.
McGinn has been tipped for a wonderful career and even has some English Premier League sides keeping close tabs on his situation at Hibernian.
Celtic take on Hibs on Saturday in the Scottish League Cup semi-final where McGinn will be hoping to show everyone what the fuss about him is about.
The 23-year-old has already been a nemesis for Brendan Rodgers when he found the back of the net twice to earn Hibs a draw with the Hoops last month.
McGinn has also been tipped to become a first-team starter in midfield for Scotland.
Stubbs said:
John is good enough to play for Celtic. If they decided to go for John in the next couple of years he would be a ready-made replacement.
He is a player who is on an upward spiral. He has not yet reached his full potential as he is still growing and maturing as a player. I have no doubt he could perform at Premier League level.
