Reading manager Jaap Stam has spoken out on the attention defender Liam Moore is getting, and has insisted he isn’t surprised to hear of Celtic’s interest, the Daily Record report.
Moore, 24, is believed to be valued at £5 million by the Championship club, and Celtic are weighing up an offer around the Royals valuation to bring him up to Scotland in the upcoming window.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is thought to be a huge admirer of the defender, however, Stam has made it clear he is desperate for Moore to stay at the Madejski Stadium in January.

When asked about Moore and the attention he is getting, Stam said:
If he is mentioned I can understand it because he has the ability to step up. But if you want to build a club and go somewhere you’re not going to sell your best players.
Rodgers has been without many of his central defenders so far this season due to injuries, and has placed the Reading defender at the top of his list as he looks to bolster the squad challenging for back to back trebles.
