Leigh Griffiths’ stunning free-kick 13 minutes from time extended Celtic’s unbeaten run to 64 games and opened up a six-point gap at the top of the table.
The away side failed to register a single shot on the Ross County goal in the first-half, as they struggled to create any clear openings in the game.
Mikael Lustig almost opened the scoring with the Hoops’ first attempt on goal after 48 minutes, but his deft flick at the front post from Stuart Armstrong’s corner went into the side netting.
Substitute Griffiths stepped up from 30-yards out a curled a stunning free-kick into the top corner on 77 minutes to give Celtic all three points on a difficult afternoon in Dingwall.
The Hoops will travel to France next to face Paris Saint-Germain in match day five of the Champions League group stages on Wednesday.
Here are the player ratings from today’s game.
Craig Gordon 6/10
Commanded his box well and was quick off his feet to win high balls and collect through balls.
Mikael Lustig 6/10
Came close to scoring with a flick at the front post but hit the side netting. Decent game defensively against a tricky winger in Keillor-Dunn.
Nir Bitton 6.5/10
Solid in defence and did what was asked of him once again.
Dedryck Boyata 6.5/10
Composed start to the game on the ball and had plenty of possession as Celtic patiently worked their way up the field. Strong when he needed to be to win back possession and read the game well.
Kieran Tierney 6/10
Decent game getting forward as always down the left flank to support the Hoops attack. Didn’t have much to do defensively.
Scott Brown 6.5/10
Solid as always and upped the intensity when Celtic were beginning to get space in between the lines, driving forward with the ball and playing a good pass in behind.
Stuart Armstrong 6/10
Not involved much going forward but worked hard in midfield. Set piece delivery was poor and straight at the ‘keeper. Made a number of sloppy passes in the final third and in midfield. Improved in the second half and started making driving runs at Ross County and beyond the defence.
James Forrest 5/10
Took 25 minutes to take on his man and get the ball into the box. Too quiet in the first-half and didn’t get on the ball enough.
Callum McGregor 6/10
Bright spark in the final third creating the best chances with a dangerous run in behind and low crosses into the box. Couldn’t get anything going in the second half and was subbed off.
Scott Sinclair 5.5/10
Quiet start to the game but became more involved midway through the first half but lacked any end product.
Moussa Dembele 5/10
Anonymous in the opening 45 minutes of the game as he struggled to find space to receive the ball and hold it up. First shot on target on 55 minutes was tame.
Leigh Griffiths 7/10
Came on for McGregor with 25 minutes left in the game. Superb free-kick to open the scoring.
Jonny Hayes 6/10
Replaced Forrest on the 65th minute. Got at his ma and injected some pace into the game down the right flank.
Olivier Ntcham N/A
Came on for Dembele in the closing stages of the game.
