Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is backing striker Moussa Dembele to step up and make a mark in the French senior squad in the near future.
As reported by the Belfast Telegraph, the Celtic boss has been discussing the striker’s recent run of form for the French U-21s.
He is an outstanding talent. There are obviously a lot of talented players that are in the national team already. But there is no doubt that he has the belief and the talent to do that.
He showed that here at Champions League level and I have no doubt that he can make that step. Whether it is going to be before the World Cup or not, we shall see.
He is certainly a big talent and he can do more than what he is doing, scoring goals at club level and for the Under-21s and, like you see with other countries, if you can make that step up, which I believe Moussa can, then he has a great future at full international level.

Dembele has struggled with injuries this season and has been unable to hit the heights he did last season, but he did score an eye-catching hat-trick for the French youth side on Monday night.
The former Fulham man bagged three goals inside 12 minutes.
The striker has become a regular for the French U-21 side but is yet to receive his first cap for the senior side.
He was recently named in the 30-man friendly squad to face Germany and Wales but did not make the cut for the final 24-man squad.
