Brendan Rodgers, talking to The Scotsman, confirmed that Celtic are looking to wrap up all of their January transfer business early in the window.
Celtic are due to travel to Dubai for warm weather training over the winter break as they look to make the most of their time off, and Rodgers wants to ensure that he has his complete squad by that point. Rodgers said;
We’d like to have the players we want in before we head to Dubai [in the second week of January] and the club are great at tying moves up.
But getting new players is not always the answer. Last year was brilliant for us because we actually gained a couple of players.
The Bhoys have already completed their first signing of the winter window, bringing in defender Marvin Compper from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
The one-time German international has been brought in by Rodgers to tighten the Hoops’ back line, with the club having ended their incredible 69-game unbeaten run against Hearts last weekend.
The club are looking at a number of additions to further strengthen their squad depth ahead of the second half of the season.
With European football still to contend with, Celtic will need to be ready when they face off against Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg in the knockout stage of the Europa League.
