Celtic confirm Hayes leg break

Celtic Football Club have confirmed that Jonny Hayes has broken his leg and will be ruled out of action for a long period of time.

The club have confirmed in their official statement that Hayes is unlikely to make a senior appearance for the club before the end of the season.

Hayes suffered the injury during Celtic’s clash with Dundee on Boxing Day, with the club now confirming the extent of the injury.

Brendan Rodgers will now have to cope without Hayes until the end of the season. Although the January transfer window opens next week, giving Celtic the chance to replace Hayes for the second half of the season.

Celtic could dip into the loan market to make sure they are not understaffed without Hayes in the squad.
