Former Celtic defender Virgil Van Dijk has finally ended months of speculation by securing a £75m move to Liverpool after catching the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Scottish Champions will be licking their lips at the sign of this transfer, to be completed when the January window opens, as they are entitled to a sell on fee of around 10 per cent.
This was agreed with Southampton when Van Dijk left Celtic in September 2015 for £13 million.
The lucrative transfer fee will not only benefit Southampton but also give Celtic a bonus of around £7.5 million, which is a massive amount of money for a Scottish club.

The 26 year old spent two years at Celtic after joining from Dutch side Groningen in 2013 and cruised through the Scottish premiership earning his move to the Premier League.
His impressive displays for Southampton and for the Netherlands at international level saw his value soar and he has now made his dream move to Anfield.
Delighted and honoured to have agreed to become a Liverpool FC player. Today is a proud day for me and my family as I join one of the biggest clubs in world football.
So with Celtic aiming to progress in Europe, their budget will now be given a much needed financial boost thanks to their former player and Brendan Rodgers will certainly have funds available in January.
