After fighting hard to keep hold of Jozo Simunovic in the summer, Celtic may be tempted to part ways with the centre-back during the January transfer window with Burnley ready to revive their interest in the defender, according to the Daily Record.
Celtic received a £10m offer from the Premier League side for the 23-year-old in the summer but turned it down as they strived to qualify for the Champions League group stages.
Simunovic has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons and it seems as if Brendan Rodgers’ patience with the player is wearing thin, handing him just eight starts in the Scottish Premiership, none of which coming in the last four games.
Aware that Burnley are ready to make a £8m January move for Simunovic, Celtic are ready to firm up their interest in Dundee ace Jack Hendry amid talk of a £500,000 bid being made for the youngster. The 22-year-old defender is also being watched by Southampton, Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
Celtic brought in Marvin Compper from Red Bull Leipzig already this month and while Rodgers still rates Simunovic, he could opt to cash-in on the defender to fund other moves in the transfer market after admitting multiple players could leave the club to pave the way for new arrivals.
