Celtic have wasted no time bringing players into the club during the January transfer window as they have completed the signing of Leo Mazis on a three-and-a-half-year contract this week.
Mazis first joined the club on a trial basis back in November and has performed well enough behind the scenes to prompt the club to hand him a permanent contract, joining from Belconnen United, who play in Canberra’s National Premier League.
The 17-year-old winger is expected to join up with the Celtic development squad where he will be monitored ahead of a potential future push into the first-team, following in the footsteps of Kieran Tierney and Liam Henderson in recent seasons.
Mazis becomes the second confirmed transfer of the window after the Bhoys signed defender Marvin Compper from Red Bull Leipzig for a reported £1m, while a £300,000 deal for Lewis Morgan is expected to be concluded soon, with the youngster returning to St. Mirren on loan for the rest of the season.
