Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Celtic may need to add another goalkeeper to their ranks before Wednesday’s transfer deadline after an injury to Craig Gordon, as reported by the Daily Record.
Celtic’s number one clashed with Hibernian’s Efe Ambrose just before half time in the 1-0 win at Celtic Park and will require a scan to determine the severity of his knee injury.
The Scot lost two years of his career when battling a knee injury and this latest knock is believed to be in a similar area that caused him so much grief before.
Craig’s looks a bit more serious in terms of his knee so we’ll need to have a look at that and have a scan. It looks like he could be out for a period of time.

The 35-year-old had shown his great shot-stopping ability after denying Brandon Barker the opening goal of the game before he was unable to continue beyond half-time.
He was then replaced by second choice goalkeeper Dorus de Vries who showed his excellent distribution skills in the second period.
However, with young keeper Conor Hazard now on loan at Falkirk and Gordon possibly facing a lengthy spell the sidelines, de Vries could be Celtic’s only option between the sticks and the manager has said this is something himself and his management team will consider.
We’ll need to look at the goalkeeper situation. We sent young Conor Hazard out on loan, funnily enough, to get experience. He could be a very good player in the future for us but he needs the experience, so that’s certainly another area we’ll have to look at for sure.
With Leigh Griffiths also picking up an injury in the same game and Celtic looking to bring young winger Charly Musonda into the team on loan from Chelsea, it could be a hectic few days for the club before the window slams shut next week.
