As revealed by STV, Celtic have made a second bid for Dundee’s young defender Jack Hendry just one day before the January transfer window closes.
Brendan Rodgers has been keen on signing Hendry for a while now with the club already having a bid rejected for the Dundee man.
The first bid, believed to be around £500,000, was labelled ‘very low’ by Dee boss Neil McCann and now Celtic have come back with offer in the region of £1 million in an attempt to lure Hendry away from Dens Park.

Hendry only joined Dundee in the summer and has since made 25 appearances for the Tayside club and most recently played in the Scottish Cup win over Inverness on Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old has faced Celtic on three occasions this season, all of which have ended in defeat but his calmness on the ball and quality defensive skills have caught the eye of Rodgers as he looks to add quality to his backline.
With new signing Marvin Compper still out injured and fellow centre-half Erik Sviatchenko out on loan, there will certainly be an opportunity for the young stopper to feature in the Celtic team.
With Celtic determined on forcing a deal it looks as if the transfer is likely to happen before the deadline with Dundee unlikely to turn down a high amount of money in exchange for their bright prospect.
